Nyoho and Strawberry Wine

Miki Town is one of the top producers of Nyoho Strawberries. These strawberries have an excellent taste and are grown in green houses using a "high cultivation" system where the strawberries have been brought off the ground. These strawberries were used in the first ever joint venture between Miki Town and her sister town in Hokkaido, Nanae Town. Miki’s Nyoho Strawberries are shipped to Nanae and then made into wine in a Nanae winery. The wine has a sweet strawberry aroma, is easy to drink and contains 8% alcohol. It is popular with women. The wine was first produced in 2000 and continues to be popular. The wine is released every year on September 15 (Strawberry Day). It can be purchased in local department stores and liquor stores.
