Shishimai Festa (Lion Dancing Festival)

One of the biggest events in Miki-Town is the Shishimai (Lion Dancing) Festival is held every year on the last Saturday of September at the Miki Sports Park.
The three big lions (including the Hikami Hachiman Shrine's huge lion - one of the biggest in Japan), about 40 small lions, husband and wife lions, child lions from the 6 shrines in Miki-Town and also guest lions participate. The fantastic sound of the synthesizer mixed with the sound of bells and drums creates a festive mood.
